INTRODUCTION.
St Joseph Matuu High School was incorporated in the year 2009 after new owners acquired the premises previously known as Matuu High School. Matuu High School was started in the year 1979 and thus we can comfortably say that our school is celebrating 30 years since its formation. The school alumnae comprise people who are holding key positions in society be it in private sector businesses or senior government positions locally and abroad.

LOCATION.
St Joseph Matuu High School is located in Matuu town adjacent to the Catholic church. From the Thika Garissa highway one can access the school by using the junction immediately after SanaSana Petrol Station if one is coming from the Thika side .From the junction, proceed on towards KCB Bank Matuu and for about 200 metres from the junction you will arrive at the school.

SPACE.
St Joseph Matuu High School occupies a total of 19 acres of land. Facilities available in the school include;

Ø Reporting to the board is a team of competent teaching staff led by the Principal Mr. Johnston Amukowa Atitwa.

Mr Atitwa has over 20 years experience as a Principal and is also a parent. . All the departmental heads hold a Bachelors of Education or Arts degree as a minimum. We are proud of also having a team of motivated and dedicated support staff.

a) Discipline
This must be adhered to. Any student caught in any indiscipline case like smoking, drug taking, sneaking or bullying e.t.c will automatically be expelled as per recommendations of the disciplinary committee.

b) Counselling
Group or individual counseling will be administered regularly by a team of fully trained teachers including nuns from the Catholic Mission.

c) Performance
The best performing students will regularly be rewarded. The school timetable is set such that we shall be able to complete the syllabus in good time and undertake remedial teaching if necessary prior to revision and exams. Continuous assessment tests are administered at night or during preps time leaving the day for full syllabus coverage.
Continuous non-performance of the student will be notified to the parent/guardian.

St Joseph Matuu High School has a quiet and serene environment conducive to learning and at the same time enabling the students to participate in both indoor and outdoor games. NB: No form of home clothes, food items and mobile phones should be brought to the school. All students are expected in school all the time. Learning starts on the 2nd day of opening.

Computer studies are compulsory to all our students.

SCHOOL DIET, ENTERTAINMENT AND OTHERS.
The school offers a balanced diet for the well doing of the students including but not limited to tea, bread coffee, porridge, ugali, rice, githeri, chapatti, mandazi, boiled eggs, meat, fruits, ndengu, smashed potatoes e.t.c
We have in place a program to provide our students within the school compound Radio and TV entertainment. In addition educational field trips will be undertaken once per term and for leadership training we shall be inviting motivational speakers to officiate selected leadership topics from time to time.

ENVIRONMENT CONCERN.
It is a policy in our school that all students, teachers and other staff plant at least 20 seedlings in our spacious 19 acres of land and the neighbourhood community as our social responsibility activity.
